<p><strong>Job Description: Practice Management Data Analyst</strong></p><p>The Practice Management Data Analyst develops and produces standard and ad hoc reports and analyses to evaluate, monitor and predict service statistics and operational performance of various departments within the Community Center.</p><p>The Practice Management Data Analyst works collaboratively with health center staff and managers to assure that accurate, timely and necessary data is provided in order for the Community Health Center to measure operational performance and efficiency.</p><p>The Practice Management Data Analyst is responsible for designing and maintaining a HIPAA compliant database to store data obtained from electronic or non-electronic data sources, and to efficiently and accurately mine information from that data, analyze and evaluate data, and prepare meaningful reports.</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Evaluates information needs of the organization and assists in determining utilization, financial, operational, and service objectives.</li></ul><ul><li>Assists in the reporting and analysis of financial and operational data by designing, developing and producing standardized and ad hoc reports.</li></ul><ul><li>Prioritizes data requests from users. Coordinates data activities for efficiency and effectiveness.</li></ul><ul><li>Recommends system controls and solutions.</li></ul><ul><li>Produces reports based on financial and operational data to help the health center improve efficiency and capacity.</li></ul><p>Assists Practice Managers, Chief Operations Officer, Human Resources, and Chief Financial Officer to identify trends and shifts in utilization, operational performance, patient demographics, and financial performance.</p><ul><li>Performs analysis and reporting of utilization, operational performance, patient demographics, and financial performance. </li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of principles and practices of information technology reporting, including query languages, data mining, relational database creation and project management.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of industry standard reporting datasets and administrative data files, including HEDIS reporting datasets, Uniform Data System reporting, Healthcare Reimbursement models, Practice Management, and Health Information Exchange (HIE) extracted data.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of HIPAA and HITECH requirements for privacy and security of data.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to create pivot tables, charts and graphs in MS Excel. Ability to create queries with Microsoft Access.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to configure, manage, and maintain SQL Server databases.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience writing Transact SQL statements.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience developing database reports and applications.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong data analytic skills; ability to evaluate and draw conclusions from data.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to translate data into graphs and charts to facilitate reader&rsquo;s understanding of information.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization, with physicians, health center staff, and with executives from other organization.</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven technical writing skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work independently with good judgment and discretion.</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>4 year Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Healthcare, Information Technology, Finance, Statistics or related field highly desirable. May be substituted with a combination of education and applicable work experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum two years health care reporting and/or data analysis experience, preferably in a health plan or medical services organization environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Expertise in data collection, management and analysis required.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with healthcare, Medicaid and regulatory or health policy experience desirable.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with coordinated or integrated care and medical management desirable.</li></ul><ul><li>Must possess strong communication and leadership skills and a commitment to collaboration among varying entities.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong analytical skills required, including ability to think through complex processes and</li></ul><p> relationships and analyze reports for trends and accuracy.</p><ul><li>High degree of accuracy, efficiency, organization, thoroughness and attention to detail required.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.</li></ul>
